SLMC fails to attend discussion on future activities of Eastern provincial council

The Tamil National Alliance says the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress did not attend the recent discussion held on the on future activities pertaining to the Eastern Provincial Council. Speaking to NewsRadio TNA MP M. Sumandiram said the discussion was due to take place last night. The SLMC informed the TNA that party leader Rauf Hakeem was engaged in another discussion and therefore could not attend last night’s discussions. NewsRadio questioned the SLMC if they rejected the invitation extended by the TNA to form an alliance. A spokesman of the party said such a decision has not been reached yet. The spokesmen added the discussion would be rescheduled and the SLMC will make known its stance on the matter today or tomorrow.
